The Power of Three: Asia Society, New Energy Nexus and C Team Announced “Young Green Tech” To Provide An Unparalleled Cleantech Exchange Program for Entrepreneurs

Asia Society in partnership with New Energy Nexus and C Team have announced Young Green Tech Entrepreneurs (YGT) 2019, an exchange program that empowers young creators and doers to address environmental challenges through scalable solutions and cleantech innovation. Every year, YGT provides a select group of transformative green startups training from prestigious institutions, access to high net worth philanthropists, business companies, venture capital, science labs and participation in tech-exchanges in both US and China.

In 2018, five startups building climate change solutions were selected to participate in tech exchanges at GoogleX, Navigant Consulting, ChangeLabs and TomKat Sustainable Energy Center at Stanford University and pitched at the Coal & Ice Exhibition in San Francisco during the Global Climate Action Summit. Startups included Shenzhen Power Solution, Clarity Movement, Motioneco, BluePlanet and VLoop.

“We are passionate about helping young entrepreneurs bring their technologies, solutions and products to the global marketplace, and look forward to mentoring them as they become viable businesses that enable us to tackle the toughest climate challenges in innovative ways.” – Bin Ouyang, Associate Director, Asia Society and YGT founder

This year, finalists of YGT 2019 will receive capacity building support from a strong mentor network, startup bootcamp, pitch opportunities in both China and the US and access to leading environmental stakeholders and to a vibrant YGT global alumni network.

“It will be up to the next generation of cleantech entrepreneurs to turn the dial and get us back on track towards a safer, cleaner and more sustainable future. – Danny Kennedy, Chief Energy Officer, New Energy Nexus and YGT advisor

YGT 2019 is now open for applications. The deadline is on May 5, 2019.

The program is supported by Asia Society, C Team, Vanke Foundation, New Energy Nexus, Financial Times Chinese and Columbia Global Centers.
